2023 Chevrolet Tahoe
If you're looking for an SUV with tons of space in the cabin, the Chevrolet Tahoe should be tops on your list. It has room for seven or eight people and a large cargo area. The Tahoe has just a few updates for 2023. There are three new exterior paint colors to choose from, and a black grille with Chevrolet spelled out is now an available option. Also, for 2023, Super Cruise hands-free driving is optional for the Premier and High Country.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level LS comes with 17-inch wheels, side assist steps, and LED headlights, while a step up to the LT adds a hands-free liftgate. The RST is next in the lineup with 22-inch wheels, black exterior accents, and a unique grille. Choose the Z71 for 20-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, a front skid plate, and red tow hooks, or the Premier for 20-inch wheels, chrome exterior accents, and heated side exterior mirrors. The top-level High Country comes with 22-inch wheels, and it adds bronze accents in the front grille. The High Country offers the option for power-retractable side steps and a panoramic sunroof.
Engine (Power)
The base engine for the Tahoe is a 5.3-liter V-8 gas engine that puts out 355 horsepower. The RST, Z71, and Premier offer the option for a 6.2-liter V-8 that generates 420 horsepower, and this engine comes standard with the High Country. A 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbodiesel with 277 horsepower is optional for any trim except the Z71. All trims use a 10-speed automatic transmission and offer all-wheel drive. All but the Z71 come standard with rear-wheel drive.
Performance
Any of the engines provide the Tahoe with plenty of power, and the ride in this SUV is smooth and comfortable. Models with Chevy's Magnetic Ride Control suspension or adaptive air suspension smooth out the ride even more. The Z71's standard four-wheel drive system has a low-speed transfer case for extra off-road traction, and its added ground clearance makes it capable of traversing rocky terrain.
Interior
There's room for up to seven or eight people in the Tahoe depending on the configuration you choose. Power adjustable front seats come standard, along with tri-zone automatic climate control and cloth upholstery. The LT adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, and driver's seat memory settings. Bumping up to the Premier adds heated and ventilated front seats and heated second-row bucket seats. Some of the tech you can get in the Tahoe includes a 10.2-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 10-speaker Bose stereo system.
Safety Features
Every 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe comes standard with several advanced driver aids. It starts with forward collision warning with automatic braking, lane-departure warning with mitigation, front and rear parking sensors, automatic high beam headlights, and automatic windshield wipers. The Premier adds a blind-spot warning system with rear cross-traffic alert, and the Advanced Technology Package adds Super Cruise hands-free driving technology, an automated parking system, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree surround-view parking camera. It also comes with a head-up display, rear automatic braking, and a rearview camera mirror.
