2023 Chevrolet Traverse
The Chevrolet Traverse fits in the midsize SUV market, but its cabin is more spacious than most others in its class, and it has a large cargo area. For the 2023 model year, the Traverse has just a few minor updates. It has two new exterior color options, and some of the trim levels now come with a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Here's a look at some of the features and equipment you can get with the 2023 Chevrolet Traverse.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The base trim is the LS. It comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights, and heated side exterior mirrors. The LT Cloth adds fog lights, roof rails, and body-colored side exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals. Step up to the LT Leather for upgrades in the cabin or the LT Premium Package for 20-inch wheels. The RS has 20-inch dark-finished wheels and black exterior trim elements, while the Premier adds chrome door handles, a hands-free liftgate, and chrome roof rails. The top-level High Country comes with a panoramic sunroof and trailering equipment.
Engine (Power)
Power for the 2023 Traverse comes from a 3.6-liter V-6 gas engine that generates 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. It works with Chevrolet's nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard with all trim levels, but you can opt for the all-wheel-drive system instead. The engine has plenty of power for this SUV, getting the sporty RS from zero to 60 mph in 6.8 seconds.
Performance
The Traverse makes the most of its strong V-6 engine, and the suspension does an excellent job of smoothing out most road surfaces. Active noise cancelation keeps the cabin quiet when the SUV is on the move and when you are stopped at a light, and the stop/start feature helps to increase fuel economy. When equipped with the available tow package, the Traverse can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
Interior
There's room for up to eight people in the Traverse with the second-row bench seat and seven with the captain's chairs. The LS comes with cloth upholstery and triple-zone automatic climate control, with leather upholstery added to the LT Leather and above. This trim also has a power-adjustable passenger seat and comes with an 8-inch touch screen for the infotainment system. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come with the LT Premium Package, and this also adds a 10-speaker stereo and a 120-volt power outlet. You'll get heated rear seats and ventilated front seats in the Premium and High Country.
Safety Features
Every 2023 Chevrolet Traverse comes with a rearview camera, forward collision warning with automatic braking, and lane-keeping assist. The LT Cloth trim adds rear parking sensors and a blind-spot warning system with rear cross-traffic alert. The LT Premium Package adds several advanced safety systems, including a 360-degree surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, an enhanced automatic emergency braking system, and a digital rearview mirror. The RS, Premier, and High Country all come with the LT Premium Package's safety features, and the Premium adds a safety alert seat for the driver.
